A fixed window is a non-operable, stationary window meticulously engineered to maximise natural light, provide sweeping unobstructed views, and significantly improve overall energy efficiency. Offering exceptional daylighting performance and airtight sealing, these systems seamlessly merge the indoors with the outside world.

Typical Applications
- Living areas, stairwells and facade openings where daylight and clear views are the priority. With no opening sash, almost the whole opening is glass, so the double glazed unit sets most of the window's thermal and acoustic performance.
- Residential and commercial elevations that need larger glass areas without an opening sash, including picture windows and highlight glazing paired with operable windows or doors.
- New homes working toward NCC 2022 7-star energy targets, where large fixed glass needs a glass make-up and SHGC chosen for its orientation.
Selection Notes
- Choose the double glazed make-up by series: 5mm + 9Ar + 5mm (Living, Vista), 5mm + 12Ar + 5mm (Urban, Urban Reinforced) or 5mm + 20Ar + 5mm with a thermal break (Comfort). Low-E, laminated and acoustic glass are available on request.
- Double glazing reduces conducted heat loss but does not stop direct sun. For large west- or north-facing fixed glass, review SHGC (0.38-0.65) and shading together with the U-value (2.5-3.5 W/m²K).
- Fixed windows do not provide ventilation, so pair them with awning, sliding or louvre windows. Large fixed panels should also be checked against wind load, glass weight and installation access.
